"Come on to my house, my house, I'm gonna give you candy"

I love the tatami matts and rice paper screens (even though Conor and I are doing a good job at trashing both ^^)

"Take Off Your Clothes and Come on In!"

This is where I do most of my writing and where Conor and I chill out all the time. My calligraphy is over the couch. And our ghost decided to make an appearance in the picture. I have no idea what that thing sitting on the couch is. I used a flash when I took the picture and it's not sunlight because it was cloudy outside when I took the picture this morning...

The kitchen. Gods. It's always a battle to keep that room in order! When I say, "I need to go clean the house" on my blog, I'm generally talking about THIS ROOM.

I love my plants. Taking care of the plants that were left here makes me happy. I wonder how long they've been here. Everything in this house was here when we got here minus our luggage and the art we contributed. The paper cranes are not our art either.

Our bathroom is seriously rotting away and there's nothing we can do about it because it's from the 60's. That contraption you're looking at is our water heater. You have to press down the knob on the right, turn it to the 2nd setting, and crank the lever on the front to start it. The temperature adjustment is on the left and you can chose between the shower or bath tub faucet with the knob on top. The Japanese often shower sitting on a small stool so that's why the shower isn't suspended and the head is on a hose.

Our groddy bathroom. I had to clean the drain today. Omg, fucking disgusting. I'm not even going to go into that.

This is the bathroom sink and the washing machine. Few people have dryers in Japan so we have to hang all of our laundry out to dry.

My room (AKA The PRINCESS CONNECTION)

Um, I like a lot of space right in the middle of the floor so I can practice poi and fans. My fire gear is right next to the mirror, fyi. The big poster on the wall is the map of Guam that Conor and I used to navigate the island when we were driving around. I also hung up the flyer for Ground Beat since I hang up flyers from all the big parties I go to like a teenager ^^ As you can see, I haven't been going out much. I'm saving my money for EASTER ISLAND.

And yeah, the other side of my room. Yea. My big fan from Korea (that I trashed because I liked it too much) is over the dresser. The calligraphy over my bed are the examples of calligraphy I copied when I did mine. I really want to take calligraphy classes because I love studying kanji. It's so much fun!

So yep, that's my house. I now a lot of people have wanted to see it but I just got around to it. I had to do a massive clean up today since the air con repair man came over and I thought my boss was coming with him but she never showed up.

I like cooking in the kitchen, I just hate CLEANING IT! I think our place is cute too, even though there's a trick to getting EVERYTHING to work. All the stuff in this in this house is old that each individual appliance has developed a personality. lol.

Bring it over and we'll drink and blow dry our hair! Then we'll take pictures. OMFG!!!

So are you coming Saturday? Please say yes! I want to hang out with you as much as I can because you may be leaving Japan soon!

Haha, for the first three days Conor and I lived in this house, we didn't take showers because we couldn't figure out how to turn on the damn thing! We had to have Marcella come over to our house and give a demo AND we called a repair guy who said it wasn't broken and we were like,"Oh..." And then I magically figured it out after that embarrassing experience. I sort of learned the trick to it really fast so now I can turn it on pretty fast. However, sometimes it may take 1 to 3 tries depending of if I rush the process or not.

What did your friend post? I'll try to translate it but my Japanese is kind of the suck...

I'm sure you could bring your dog. Lap dogs are all the rage here. You could buy doggie clothes for it and make friends with all the ladies out walking their dogs wearing pants and sweaters and shoes in 80 degree weather. lol.

Thanks!

Well, our apartment is really big so we can have the washer in the bathroom. But smaller apartments have washers on the balcony, like Brenna and Mika.

Dude, I love Japan but the racist ass holes here can really piss me off. I have been getting in a lot of fights with ass holes that work in the train station lately because they're just the biggest douche bags.

I dunno, sometimes I wish I DIDN'T understand what people are saying. Japan is great but sometimes it really gets to me. I guess just like anywhere else...

Hey Sarah

That's a really nice looking apartment, looks like you and Connor have heaps of space. I hope that Joe and I get a place like this when we head over in April. Did I tell you that I'm going to Korea to teach english at a summer camp for a month? I'm really excited!

You're going to go to Korea to do a summer camp? What's the camp called? It would be hilarious if you were going to work the same camp that I worked! XD

So you guys are gonna come back in April?! Sweet. We totally have to meet up for realz! Then you can see my house IRL!!

Yup-I don't know the actual name of the camp but it's in Jinju City at the bottom of South Korea. I'm working for a company called IUC and I'll be staying at IUK (International University of Korea)-is that the same camp you worked at? I can't wait to get back to nihon in april, I'm really losing my japanese, big time.
